Happy Sunday! This week I’m launching the combo video/podcasting show where I’m going to shine the spotlight on ways to bring the Awesome Sauce to the classroom.
I was originally planning on recording a completely different episode about my rule of 3 and then I stumbled upon this amazing gem of a website that I thought I’d share with you. I’m actually using this tool right now as I’m recording this.
I actually heard about this in a session at ISTE 2020 that was presented by Troy Hicks. He mentioned a teleprompter website called https://teleprompt.me/.
It just so happened that this week I was working on a video project and I needed a teleprompter, and I thought what better time to test this tool out. I was expecting a really complicated set up. I was completely wrong. It is the most simple tool out there. These are the steps for using the tool.
- Copy your script.
- Paste your script into the script box.
- Read your script.
That’s it! That’s the entire process for having a teleprompter that runs BY ITSELF! At first I was confused. I was looking around for a play button to start the teleprompter from running. Nope. No play button. You just start talking and it recognizes the words and moves along in real-time, so you can take as long as you need for each section.
This tool is a real game changer. My students are currently working on creating some promotional materials for their National Novel Writing Month Stories and one of their options is to create a video. I’m going to be sharing this with all of my students.
There are a couple of simple settings you can adjust. You can choose the font colors, the options being blue, green, yellow and white, and you can adjust the font size. There might be more features I’m missing, but I literally opened up the website a few minutes ago and launched right in.

Thanks for listening, thanks for watching and as always, until next time, book it forward and BE AWESOME!
